Financial Aid Opportunities
CTL is a place for everyone. If interested in being considered for a scholarship to help offset the cost of classes, please fill out the Scholarship Request Form found HERE! Financial aid, in the form of tuition assistance grants, is awarded to deserving students to partially off-set the costs of attending. Financial Aid is available on a limited basis; therefore, applicants must demonstrate a clear financial need and a strong desire to participate in the after-school program. The questions asked in this application are designed to help the CTL staff understand the family situation and financial position, and to make certain that assistance is awarded to students whose need is greatest. The information you provide in this application is considered strictly confidential. All decisions regarding financial assistance are made by the Educational Coordinator and CTL Executive staff.
Winter-Spring 2024 Class Offerings
**Begin week of Feb 26th with a PAUSE (no classes during the week of 3/25), end week of April 22
8 weeks total
First Day of Class: February 26
This ongoing Preschool Drama Club will explore the world of theater, ideal for ages 4-6. Your little ones will be encouraged to use their big imaginations as we play and socialize with like-minded peers! We will learn about acting, using our bodies, facial expressions, and emotions. We will play games and explore different theater styles including musical theater, storybook theater, and puppet theater. We will also practice projecting our voices and speaking with confidence.
First Day of Class: February 27
Students will collaborate with each other and the instructor to write an original short play, culminating in a staged reading of their work on the final day. Students will learn the importance of good writing practices in the world of stage plays, while expressing their creativity and honing their communication skills
Magic to Do: A Music Revue
First Day of Class: February 28
Students will design and perform a Musical Revue, following the theme of shows that incorporate magical elements. With titles such as Wicked, Into the Woods, Frozen, and Beetlejuice on the table, there’s no doubt of the magic that can be created onstage with solos, group numbers, and plenty of choreography.
In the Box!
First Day of Class: February 29
In the Box is a comedy that takes a wacky look at television through five short scenes that include a game show, talk show, commercials and more! In “Live and Boring”, the self-absorbed singers of the group “Cheaters” are interviewed and eventually improvise with the audience as they take real questions from them. In the kids show, “The Buddy System Show”, Buddy has invited all of his friends over for an “I Don’t Care” party and sibling rivalry takes centerstage in the game show, “How Silly Can You Get?”. A crazy commercial for “Gross Foods Toaster Pastries” and the movie trailer for “Astro Wars – Will It Never End” divide the TV shows and add more laughs in this hilarious comedy for kids!
First Day of Class: February 29
Story Dramas is for budding actors, emerging readers, and creative enthusiasts. We will bring favorite stories and graphic novels to life in this readers theatre class for ages 6 to 8. Students will gain confidence and develop their storytelling skills by exploring fantastic storybooks and graphic novels through imaginative movement, voice and teamwork.
Stars in Training
Tuesdays from 4-5
First Day of Class: October 3rd
Final Day of Class/Performance: Tuesday, Nov. 21st
Our youngest performers will learn the basics of what it’s like to be on stage by working towards a mini-musical revue style show! With songs from favorite musicals and other well known tunes, the Stars in Training will play games, sing, dance, and explore all the elements that theatre has to offer.
Additional courses are being developed. Please check back soon and don’t forget to sign up for updates on the latest information.
