Blithe Spirit

BLITHE SPIRIT

by NOEL COWARD

“BLITHE SPIRIT” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com

Director: Tara Deljanovan
“Blithe Spirit” is a classic comedy play written by Noël Coward. The story revolves around Charles Condomine, a skeptical novelist, who invites an eccentric medium named Madame Arcati to conduct a séance at his home as research for his upcoming book. To his surprise, the séance conjures up the spirit of his deceased first wife, Elvira. Only Charles can see and hear Elvira, which leads to hilarious and chaotic situations as she wreaks havoc on his current marriage with his second wife, Ruth. As Charles struggles to navigate the increasingly complicated situation, he finds himself caught between the living and the dead, with unforeseen consequences.

BILLY MARTEL

is an actor/director/writer living in Williamsport PA with their beautiful wife and five beautiful cats. They graduated with a degree in film and a minor in theater from Messiah University. You may have seen them in previous CTL productions such as in Clue as Wadsworth, in A Few Good Men as Lt Kaffee, and in Noises Off as Lloyd. Billy is happy to be playing another upper class twit in this show, as 2025 has been rough, so it’s nice to be able to “play the hits” as it were.

KAHLIE DEHOTMAN

is so excited to get spooky & silly with such a wonderful cast and crew. You may have seen Kahlie recently in various area productions including Miracle on 34th Street (CTL), A Few Good Men (CTL), and Much Ado About Nothing (Gaspipe); or you may have seen some of her directorial work including Cheaper by the Dozen (CTL) and Noises Off (CTL). Kahlie is incredibly grateful for this rare opportunity to share the stage with her beloved partner and best friend, Billy.

(Ruth Condomine)

AUTUMN WEHRY

a devoted dog mom, telephile, and pinup enthusiast from Sunbury, “passed over” two hours before curtain today. She once graced the CTL stage as Shelby in “Steel Magnolias” and Mrs. White in “Clue.” Some local theatregoers will remember her as Margaret in “Much Ado About Nothing” with Gaspipe Theatre Company and Maggie in “Lend Me A Tenor” with RiverStage Community Theatre. She is survived by her supportive partner, Saffo, their rascally pup, Clementine, and herself.

MELISSA WADDELL

is basically Madame Arcati in real life without the British accent. This is not her first show at CTL, but it is her first lead role! Hopefully she doesn't muck it up too much and you enjoy yourself! If not, well it's Community Theatre, I did my best. Thanks for coming out and I hope you have a hauntingly good time!

SAFFO VALENTINO

This is Val's first show with CTL... but Val is known. Yes... it is of mist and other intangibles born. Did you know it once played Touchstone in As You Like It? It did, yes! Very vacuous, and much puffed up, one of many roles that it has suffered us to witness! Smothering the stage in sophistry, it does, mmm, yes, yes! Polonius in Hamlet? Hamm in Endgame? Pishchik in Cherry Orchard?! How it talks, talks, talks! A sample: "Much love to friends & family & cast & crew & Autumn & Clem!" Dull, yes?!

JASON CASSIDY

is a transplant to Williamsport and is thrilled to be returning to the stage after over a decade away with the Community Theatre League. He has acted and directed in numerous shows in other places that you've probably never heard of and he's thrilled to realize that he doesn't have to smear goop in his hair to make it look gray anymore.

She formerly acted as Michael Hobbs in ELF THE MUSICAL last year and has already performed this year in CORNER OF BROADWAY AND THIRD: Kidz singing a song from Annie. Recently for her 13th birthday, she visited NYC where she saw Aladdin, visited the Broadway Museum, and met the Supervisor, Arranger, and Conductor Haley Bennett (and her dog Cheerio) of & Juliet. Emmaline is an animal lover and spends her free time with friends, family, and her rescue dogs, River and Skye.
